25 Florals Arranged for Spring

While wondering what to pull together for our blog to continue in the theme of twenty-five selections from the gallery, we decided that flowers and spring go hand-in-hand so our Spring offering is a tribute to the flower.

Flowers are the harbingers of spring and with the prolonged winter experienced across the country we thought these flowers might bring hope of sunny days and life enjoyed outdoors.

Flowers are integral to our lives: we plant them in our gardens, pot them in sunny locations on our patios, pick them for floral arrangements, carry them as bridal bouquets, send them to loved ones experiencing grief or illness, present them to lovers, decorate our homes and commercial spaces, cover caskets and mark graves, and assign them cultural meanings. They give us joy, comfort, surprise, delight, beauty, remembrance, and scents.

This floral arrangement offers more than the media of printmaking, as we have included watercolor, gouache, and oil. Some of the artists elected a representational rendering while others employed artist license.

The Annex Galleries will be participating in the Capital Art Print Fair in the Washington, D.C. area the first weekend in April. Visit www.capitalartprintfair.com for more information or see our print fair schedule on our home page.

Please click on the text link at the bottom of the image to see the work on our website, along with more information on that particular work and a biography on the artist.

Enjoy the exhibition and call or email if you have questions or wish to purchase any of the twenty-five works from our floral arrangement.
